PUTRAJAYA: The cabinet assured no displaced Rohingnya people will be sent to Bau and Serian in Sarawak. Human Resources Minister Datuk Sri Richard Riot Anak Jaem said the assurance was given by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. "The issues of Rohingnya people being sent to Sarawak is false and I call on all parties not to believe such news. Sarawak Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Datuk Seri Michael Manyin had said he would oppose any attempts to bring displaced Rohingya people to Sarawak, especially in the Serian and Bau districts. Manyin was asked to respond on a social media posting that a certain number of Rohingya people would be sent to Serian.
