With the 2019 World Cup looming on the horizon, the BCB expressed concerns with Mustafizur’s fitness earlier this year. As a result, Mustafizur was not included in the players’ list of the upcoming IPL auction. The southpaw had featured for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016 and 2017 before switching to Mumbai Indians in 2018.
