The team were formed with the selected footballers from the inter-university football tournament, Faraaz Gold Cup, organised by Sonali Otit Club, whose second edition was held in August this year. Faraaz combined team, led by coach Shamsuzzaman Yusuf, held a month-long training camp prior to the India tour. They are set to play directly from the quarter-final in both the tournaments.
