Coke High School student who has been accused of mercilessly beating a schoolmate after he reportedly stepped on his shoes, said his client was not wearing Clarks-branded footwear at the time of the incident. "He was in court today in the same pair of shoes that he had on on that day, and that pair of shoes is not a pair of Clarks," the lawyer, Hopeton Marshall, told journalists yesterday. Marshall made a successful bail application for the Grade 11 student in the St Elizabeth Parish Court. The lawyer said that family members of the accused, especially his mother, are "so empathetic" and his client's family conveyed this to the victim's family. "His family wishes to extend their sympathies to the family of the complainant."
