Unavailability was the chief reason behind the PSL sides not picking any Bangladeshi players for the fifth edition of the tournament, set to be held in Pakistan from February 20 to March 22 next year. During this time, the Bangladeshi cricketers will be busy with the home series against Zimbabwe in March, and thus not be fully available for the PSL. As many as 23 Bangladeshi players were named in the PSL players’ draft held Friday in Lahore. A similar fate is likely for the Bangladeshi cricketers in the upcoming auction of the Indian Premier League Twenty20. Six Bangladeshi cricketers in the form of Tamim, Mahmudullah, Mustafizur, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed and Soumya Sarkar have been named in the IPL auction.
