Waiheke Island and North Rodney residents' hopes of breaking away from the Auckland super-city have been dashed. JAY BOREHAM/STUFF Northern Action Group chairman Bill Townson said North Rodney was being treated like a "cash cow" for the super-city. The Local Government Commission announced today that it supports the status quo, with Waiheke and North Rodney remaining under Auckland Council control. Councillors and local board members were among those providing feedback on the process.
