Arrest following alleged sexual abuse at Maraehako Bay RetreatGRANT MATTHEW/STUFF Police are asking employees at the Maraehako Bay Retreat to make contact if they can help the investigation. Police are calling for help as they investigate claims international workers were sexually abused while working at the Maraehako Bay Retreat. Police were made aware of the alleged offending in September and have since found at least two former employees were allegedly abused while staying at the retreat between 2013 and 2017. The two women, from Japan and Taiwan, both in their mid-to-late 20s, were working for the retreat as cleaners in exchange for accommodation and food when the alleged offending occurred. A manager of Maraehako Bay Retreat declined to comment.
