No. 7 Dayton manages to hold off pesky Duquesne

7 Dayton Flyers held on for a 73-69 win over the host Duquesne Dukes on Wednesday in Pittsburgh. The Dukes erased a 19-point, second-half deficit and trailed 71-69 after Marcus Weathers made 1 of 2 free throws with 33 seconds left. Toppin was fouled and made two free throws with 15 seconds left to ice the game for the Flyers (19-2, 8-0 Atlantic-10). But Duquesne still had plenty of fight as it went on a 17-4 run to cut the deficit to 59-53 on two free throws by Hughes. Hughes and Weathers combined to score the next nine points and the Dukes trailed by just two.
