PUTRAJAYA: The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Niosh) has been directed to look into the safety of all schools nationwide. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi,(pic) who issued the directive, said this included religious schools (tahfiz). "We need to ensure schools adopt high safety standards and procedures to avoid any untoward incidents," he said here on Monday. Niosh will also part of the task force to be chaired by Dr Ahmad Zahid to probe the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tahfiz fire. Police have arrested seven youths aged between 11 and 18 in connection with the fire.
