Nine months after Union railway minister Piyush Goyal announced a structural audit of 445 structures on Mumbai’s suburban network, to be carried out by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, the Central Railway (CR) is yet to complete audit of 23 of the 299 structures in its purview. The Western Railway (WR) has completed the audit of all its 146 structures. WR said they have completed repair works on five RoBs. Repair works for FoBs in Kalanagar, Andheri, Dharavi, Malad and Vasai Road are underway and expected to complete by July-end. Repair works of the structures is on and demolition works will be complete by the year-end,” said Ravinder Bhakar, chief public relations officer of WR.
