A scene depicting family bonds has been judged the best of the 2016 Nikon Auckland Photo Day. The winners' announcement marks the close of the 2016 Auckland Festival of Photography, which featured more than 100 exhibitions and events over the month of June. Auckland University of Technology student Angela Asuncion won the newly-introduced Moving Image prize for her short film, The Last Night. Like [the festival's] fringe programme, Nikon Auckland Photo Day demonstrates a commitment to photography as something everyone can relate to and take part in, as a creative and personal means of expression."
