Nigerian Andrew Odoh shot five-under 66 after the first round to claim the overnight leader board top spot a stroke ahead of Zimbabwean Robson Chinhoi at four-under par-67. Odoh will be going for an outright win at Karen to enhance his chances of being declared the season champion. The top 12-placed players after the Karen event will earn their places in the Magical Kenya Open as well as the new event, the Kenya Savannah Classic.
