At least 30 people were killed and many women and children were abducted Sunday evening by the Islamic State Group in West Africa (ISWAP), near a village close to the capital of Borno State, Maiduguri. The terrorists also burned around 30 vehicles, according to a statement from the local government. Despite the presence of African and foreign security forces, there is a resurgence of deadly attacks perpetrated by different Islamist and criminal groups in the Sahel and Lake Chad regions.
