Nickel Asia sold an aggregate 10 million wet metric tons (WMT) of nickel ore last year, lower than the year-earlier’s 10.4 million WMT. Last year, Nickel Asia’s Taganito HPAL Nickel Corp. and Coral Bay Nickel Corp.’s high-pressure acid leach plants delivered 8.2 million WMT at an average price of $6.22 per pound of payable nickel. On a combined basis, Nickel Asia sold 18.2 million WMT at $22.46/WMT in 2020 and 18.8 million WMT at $16.69/WMT in 2019. Nickel Asia is the country’s largest producer of lateritic nickel ore and one of the largest in the world. Nickel Asia shares added 37 centavos or 7.21 percent to finish at P5.50 apiece on Thursday.
