But for overseas workers, the opportunity to work abroad brings the problems. A migrant worker’s problems start soon after he or she decides to work abroad. It is the migrant workers’ misfortune that there are not many angels in this lucrative business. In Asean member states which are net labor-receiving countries, migrant workers are not entitled to the same workers’ rights that are guaranteed for their nationals. For undocumented migrant workers, immigration laws prevail over labor laws.
