Ethiopian forces killed 42 armed men accused of massacring a village in the western part of their country yesterday. And a number of traditional Christmas Eve religious services and celebrations were far more subdued this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And in the West Bank, a lockdown in Bethlehem muted festivities at Manger Square in the traditional birthplace of Jesus.
