The body of a newborn boy was recovered from the road margins on Dindigul-Kumily highway at Veerapandi in Theni district on Monday. The residents alerted the police on seeing the body of the baby on the roadside. The Veerapandi police arrived at the spot with a medical team and an examination was conducted. It was ascertained that the baby boy was born only hours ago. The body was sent to Theni Government Medical College Hospital for portmortem.
