The Education ministry has developed a policy that seeks to instil relevant skills into teaching and learning. The Education for Sustainable Development Policy will incorporate learning on climate change, disaster risk reduction, gender equality, biodiversity, poverty reduction and sustainable consumption of natural resources. The long-term goal of the policy is to tackle sustainable development problems that Kenya faces as it gears towards realisation of Vision 2030. Learners will also be required to understand the link between environmental, social and economic dimensions to sustainable development and good governance. “It talks about enhancing public awareness and building capacity for sustainable development.
