KUALA LUMPUR: Vountus Indra Mawan Saniru believes his recent appointment by the BA of Malaysia (BAM) as men's doubles coach, is a blessing in disguise. Vountus, who quit the national team in 2012, played on as a professional before hanging his raquet in 2014. Earlier this year, he joined Dutch side CBA Cuntapay Badminton Academy as junior head coach before returning to Malaysia in August. "I read through carefully and realised that head coach Cheah Soon Kit's ideas and plans are in line with what I have in mind too. On Thursday, BAM through a statement announced the appointment of Vountus as men's doubles coach, to replace the outgoing Jeremy.
