The likelihood of Apple’s largest iPhone in 2019 shipping with a triple-lens camera increased today with reports from the supply chain that one of Apple’s manufacturing partners is expecting more triple-lens business during 2019. The details come from Largan Precision, a supplier in the production chain of a number of smartphones. Although it has reported a drop in Q4 revenue, the smartphone camera lens manufacturer is expecting to see an increased demand for its product, which includes 3-lens camera units. If the triple-lens does feature on the presumptively named iPhone 11 Max when it is launched in September, it would be Apple’s first use of three lenses in an iPhone camera.
