During three hours of emotional testimony Wednesday, eight people who said they were harassed while working for the New York state Legislature described their experiences to lawmakers and recommended changes in how complaints are handled. Seven women and one man detailed claims of brusque treatment by lawyers for the state Assembly, to which their alleged harassers had been elected, as well as retaliation after they came forward and its long-term implications.
