A Shaw Festival veteran, two young Montreal actors and an American newcomer have been added to the cast of Anne, the new CBC drama series based on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. Corrine Koslo, seen last season in Shaw’s Sweeney Todd, will play nosy neighbour Rachel Lynde. Montreal native Dalila Bela, known for TV series Odd Squad and a couple of Diary of a Wimpy Kid films, will play Diana Barry, best friend of series lead Anne Shirley. She’ll be joined by fellow Montreal native Aymeric Jett Montaz (Just for Laughs Gags) as hired hand Jerry Baynard. Chicago native Lucas Jade Zumann (Sense8, Chicago Fire) will play Anne’s school rival Gilbert Blythe.
