Re: Trump's truthiness spreads to Ontario, Nov. 12Trump's truthiness spreads to Ontario, Nov. 12Martin Regg Cohn has done an admirable job exposing the OPP’s overreaching in the laying of various charges against certain Liberals relating to the Sudbury by-election, and now the “reckless partisanship” of André Marin, former Ontario ombudsman and currently the PC candidate in another upcoming by-election. While the OPP and Marin are so eager to expose bribery and corruption in high places, maybe they should clean their own houses first. For example, recently OPP commissioner Vince Hawkes challenged a bid by the Office of the Independent Police Review Director to have one of his detectives censured in the investigation into the gas plant data erasure case. After the Commissioner’s challenge was upheld, he was quoted in the Star on Oct. 28 as saying, “The OPP has a very positive working relationship with . the Office of the Independent Police Review Director.”
