"They were unable to perform their duties for a number of days due to the soft tissue injuries you inflicted," Judge Byrne said. On another day, Ngaronga kicked in the door of his neighbour's unit and assaulted him, taking his wallet. "Biting police is abhorrent … your tirade was violent and anti-social," Judge Byrne said. Ngaronga received a sentence of 18 months' jail but Judge Byrne suspended the jail term.
