(File)A Timaru man has been sentenced to two years and three months’ jail for his role in the aggravated burglary of a restaurant. He was found guilty of aggravated burglary, escaping lawful custody, driving in a dangerous manner, and unlawfully possessing a firearm, after unsuccessfully defending the charges before Judge Ruth on May 24. According to the cultural report, Cropp was exposed to violence at a young age, particularly from his father. “We are shaped by what we did, we are products of our environment,” Judge Ruth said. “I find myself asking if an uplift is justified, as you would serve all of that uplift,” Judge Ruth said.
