England claimed the under-20 world title with a convincing 45-21 win over Ireland - who had conquered New Zealand in pool play - in the final in Manchester. However, New Zealand romped home in the second 40 minutes, scoring five second-half tries after Australia snuck ahead 24-21 early in the second spell.
