Stolen Girlfriends Club used this model to promote a collection that was called ‘Stolen Artifacts’. New Zealand fashion brand Stolen Girlfriends Club has apologised after it used a black model to promote a new jewellery collection called “Stolen Artifacts”. The brand posted the images to Instagram last week but took them down after receiving complaints. Stolen Girlfriends Club co-founder and creative director Marc Moore later posted on Instagram to say the campaign had been a “mistake” and they would be changing the name of the collection. Both interpretations were completely unintended, as the word “stolen” was only ever meant to be an abbreviation of their brand name.
