A Bronx, N.Y. woman accused of giving illegal silicone butt injections that led to a woman’s death was indicted on a slew of charges, authorities announced Thursday. “The defendant allegedly illegally injected the victim with a silicone substance for cosmetic purposes,” Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said in the news release. Castillo allegedly gave the injection “as part of an illegal cosmetic procedure to enhance the buttocks of” Ayala, according to the news release. The victim died of systemic silicone embolism syndrome shortly after receiving the injections,” the DA’s office said. Castillo pleaded not guilty on Thursday and her bail was set at $150,000, according to the DA’s office.
