The new board of Paddy Cosgrave’s majority owned Web Summit have cut off all funding to The Ditch, the company said in Tuesday evening. "As Web Summit moves to focus on our core mission, the board has determined we will conclude our funding relationship with The Ditch,” the company said. Earlier this year the editor of the Ditch, Eoghan McNeill, told RTE that Web Summit funding for the site would amount to €1m over the next five years. Paddy Cosgrave had previously said his company’s support for the site was “incredibly effective brand marketing for Web Summit”.
