If it seemed odd to you that – in the year 2017 – Netflix recently announced a four-movie deal with Adam Sandler, this may help make things a little clearer: it turns out, the streaming network’s users have spent a whopping half a billion hours watching his movies. That’s right. The streaming service does not make its ratings public, but did release its Q1 earnings report on Monday, revealing that “since the launch of The Ridiculous 6, Netflix members have spent more than half a billion hours enjoying the films of Adam Sandler.” These numbers didn’t include the latest release. This means that when your friends told you they went home on Saturday night to watch that hot new documentary on Syrian rescue workers, they were actually settling down for some Sandy Wexler action. What a time to be alive.
