Nelson's national presence heats up with international selections aplenty


Seven Nelson Heat baseballers have made NZ teams to attend competitions in Japan and USA. From left; Harry Carmichael, Ewan Mullett, Reegan Lawton, Connor Hulme, Cooper Grant, James Matthews and Levi Chase. Nelson College Preparatory student James Matthews also made the NZ U13 team to attend August's Cal Ripken World Series in Branson, Missouri. Local mentor Marty Grant will also head to Japan as an assistant coach of the U16 team. Of those selected from Nelson, Grant, Lawton and Matthews have previously played in overseas tournaments.
