Nelson teenagers Olivia Smith and Tiana Chaney have been selected in a national squad to tour California in July. A promising Nelson volleyball duo are set represent their country for the first time in California this year. Nelson College for Girls students Tiana Chaney and Olivia Smith have been selected as part of a New Zealand Beach Volleyball tour of California in July. Smith has been selected as part of the Junior Women's Beach squad (u19), with Chaney selected in the Youth Women's Beach squad (u17) as well as the Youth Women's Indoor squad (which will be competing in Australia later in 2019). The 15-year-olds have been playing volleyball for the past seven years, and have been teammates in indoor and beach volleyball for the past three years.
