Among the options going out for public feedback are adding clearways to major transport routes, including SH6 along Rocks Rd in Nelson. The future of Nelson's transport is going out for public consultation again. There are three long-term options included: adding peak-period clearways to SH6 Rocks Rd and Waimea Rd and Rutherford St, widening the SH6 Rocks Rd to have two lanes each way, or building a new inland route. Not-For-Syndication The Rocks Rd cycleway was uncoupled from the wider Southern Link in 2018. A proposal for a Rocks Rd walk and cycle project was uncoupled from the wider Nelson Future Access project late in 2018, to enable faster turnaround on the project.
