Nelson Muay Thai kickboxer and national heavyweight champion Ricky Esilva has been invited to base himself with a 10-time world champion on the Gold Coast in his quest to become the world's best. His Muay Thai legacy began in Nelson with his local gym helping him to become a national champion. Esilva credits the Maui Muay Thai gym for instilling the discipline and knowledge which had taken him this far. Head across the ditch by the end of 2019 - be a world champion by the end of 2020. Esliva said Muay Thai fighters generally reached their peak around 25-26 but many were able to continue fighting until their 40s.
