Shamed Heath Secretary Neil Gray dodged a grilling on BBC Scotland on Sunday as his colleague Stephen Flynn leap to his defence over the football match scandal. Mr Gray, whose remit also includes sport, has been under fire this week after it emerged he had been chauffeured to six football matches since becoming a minister - four of which included the team he supports, Aberdeen. Mr Flynn, who was on to defend his own decision to try and stand at the next Holyrood election despite being an MP, was told Mr Gray had “out-scandaled” him during the week. But the Aberdeen South MP insisted it was a non-issue as Mr Gray had attended meetings at the matches. Dundee United fan Mr Flynn had attempted to diffuse the matter when questioned, joking that the real scandal was that Mr Gray “chose to go to far too many Aberdeen games”, in a jibe at one of his team’s rivals.
