Islamabad Mayor and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sheikh Ansar Aziz has said that Sanitation Directorate is the one of important formation of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) but this formation was neglected in the past due to which standard of cleanliness in the city adversely affected. “Taking into consideration, importance of this department, MCI took practical steps to adopt modern cleanliness system. Senior officers of the MCI including Chief Metropolitan Officer Asad Mehboob Kyani and Director Sanitation Sardar Khan Zimri attended the meeting. The mayor said that in order to utilise latest technology in cleanliness system, tender from both national and multinational companies were sought and it was expected that by adopting modern system cleanliness would be improved. He further added that for the first time thickly populated areas of the city have been targeted during this campaign.
