PETALING JAYA: The abrupt cancellation of the Integrated Manasik Monitoring System (Imams) for umrah visa applications has nothing to do with non-Muslim executives running the system, said Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz. "No, nothing to do with that," Nazri said in a text message to The Star to a question if the cancellation was due to non-Muslim executives running the system. "It is because it is different from what I briefed the cabinet," said Nazri. Nazri had reportedly said the ministry decided to cancel Imams as he did not agree with the fee imposed - RM90 instead of RM40. The Imams was meant to be the only avenue for umrah visa applications to the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Malaysia.
