A 1.5 feet wide drainage pipe along the road is old and narrow, according to WASA and Dhaka South City Corporation. As a result, the rainwater takes longer to drain out. Tahura Akter Bipasha, a ninth grader at Anwara Begum Muslim Girls High School, said: “The road gets clogged whenever it rains. A project has been sanctioned to fix the problem at Nazimuddin Road, said Dhaka South CityCorporation Executive Engineer Khairul Baker. “It may take three months to fix the road,” said Baker, promising no more waterlogging on the road in next monsoon.
