CAIRO - 16 October 2023: The Egyptian National Security Council was in 2014 in accordance with Article 205 of the Egyptian Constitution. Below are basic information about the council:The National Security Council is headed by the President. The Chief of General Intelligence and the Chairman of the Defense and National Security Committee of the House of Representatives are also members. According to the law, the Council has the following powers:* Approval of strategies to achieve the country’s security after preparing them in agreement with the relevant authorities in the country. * Directing foreign policies and international cooperation in areas of interest to Egyptian national security.
