Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Sunday to follow up on the implementation of an initiative to reduce prices of basic goods. The goal of the initiative is to reduce inflation and create more stability in prices, so that citizens feel a real decrease in the prices of basic goods. The ministry is continuing to strengthen strategic stocks of basic goods, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Regarding rice, the minister said that 250,000 tons of rice have been announced for import to reinforce strategic stocks for 6 months. For his part, Minister of Local Development Amna said that various leaders in governorates across the country are regularly monitoring the implementation of the initiative to reduce the prices of basic goods on the ground.
