The national Capital has the dubious distinction of coming first in the country when it comes to crimes against women. Statistics show just how much the crime graph has risen in crimes against women. Most alarmingly, Delhi has the worst record of acid attacks with 18 such cases reported in 2016, leaving 21 victims affected. Of the total 2,155 victims of rape — 55 were below the age of six, 116 were aged between six and 12 years and 294 victims were above 12 years but younger than 16 years. It also revealed that out of total 2,155 cases of rape reported in Delhi, 2,078 victims and the accused were known to each other.
