Virat Kohli has his way, team gets pay hike

During a meeting with India captain Virat Kohli, his predecessor Mahendra Singh Dhoni and coach Ravi Shastri, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) accepted the demand for a pay hike for the team. It is understood that the Test players will be rewarded with a 100 per cent hike or more. It is learnt that Kohli wants his team to land in England at least two weeks in advance before the start of the long tour. Currently, Grade A players get Rs two crore annually, Grade B players are paid Rs one crore each and Grade C members are paid Rs 50 lakh per year. Those who make it to the playing XI of a Test are paid a match fee of Rs 15 lakh, while those who play ODI and T20 are paid Rs six lakh and Rs three lakh, respectively.
