Campton, NH – February 17, 2017 With the fresh blanket of snow from the recent winter snow storms and a long holiday weekend this is a wonderful time to get out and enjoy the White Mountains! In celebration of President's Day the White Mountain National Forest will join with National Forests across the country in waiving fees at all day-use areas on February 20th. The weather in the White Mountains can be harsh and changeable, and the weather in the mountains is colder and more severe than in the valleys. Depending on the weather forecast you may want to change your plans or plan your trip for another day. U.S. Forest Service Snow Rangers from the Mount Washington Avalanche Center strongly advise visitors to plan ahead and be prepared for severe weather on Mount Washington.
