The four women were brought back into the country via travel permits at around 4pm, on Friday. Two years ago, in the hopes of finding good employment, the four women had illegally entered Kolkata, India. Later, a shelter called “Shonglap” had the women released into their custody. The women, Ferdousi Begum (23) and three minors, are originally from different areas of Comilla, Bagerhat, Narail and Jhenaidah. Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers’ Association Coordinator Muhit Hossain said the home ministries of the two countries provided “special travel permits” which allowed these women to be sent back by India.
