The state minister said it took 50 years for South Korea to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply. He also informed parliament that the total number of solar power users across Bangladesh now stood at over six million. The state minister further added that the government implemented the Net Metering Guideline in August 2018 to encourage people to use rooftop solar power system. The tender for a project regarding this will be floated soon,” the state minister added. The government is encouraging people to use liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) instead of supply gas that is an alternative source of energy that is easily accessible, he said.
