RAJSHAHI, July 11: Naogaon district, which supplies the bulk of the country's rice, has made a silent revolution in mango production. The northern district has surpassed Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj districts in terms of mango production in the past fiscal years. In the 2021-22 season, the average mango production in Naogaon was 12.55 tonnes per hectare while it was 11.13 tonnes and 10.67 tonnes in Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj. However, Chapainawabganj district is still ahead of Naogaon and Rajshahi in terms of mango orchards. The bordering district has mango orchards on 37,588 hectares of land while Rajshahi and Naogaon districts have mango orchards on 19,578 and 30,000 hectares of land.
