The first edition of the tournament will be held in UAE under the Afghanistan Cricket Board and the final will be played on October 21Bangladesh’s premier batsman Tamim Iqbal along with wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been picked up by the Nangarhar franchise to take part in the forthcoming Afghanistan Premier League that will start from October 5. Tamim and Mushfiqur though are yet to receive an NOC from the BCB and is not sure how many matches he will play as Bangladesh will be playing Zimbabwe at home during that time. Five franchises- Balkh, Kabul, Kandahar, Nangharar and Paktia will take part in the tournament and 40 overseas players are expected to join the tournament. Before Tamim, West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell also joined Nangarhar.
