A google map screenshot of JamalpurRabiul was a drug abuser and had four cases filed under the Narcotics Control ActDewanganj police recovered the dead body of Rabiul Islam Apel, 25, an auto-rickshaw driver from a branch of Brahmaputra river in Dwanganj, Jamalpur on Monday morning. The police said Rabiul ran and jumped into the river to escape the police when he was stopped at a check post on Sunday night. After Rabiul’s disappearance, a diver’s team recovered his dead body on Monday morning. On the other hand locals alleged that Rabiul was taken in custody from the municipal area under the authority of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mosharraf and Sub-Inspector (SI) Masud of Dewanganj Police Station around 8:30pm on Sunday. The locals surrounded Dewanganj police station and vandalized several shops claiming that the police dropped his body in the river.
