Schools in Nakuru county face a financial crunch following soaring food prices. “We are deeply concerned by the soaring food prices, which have affected the operations of many boarding schools,” he said. The vice chairman of the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads’ Association Naivasha branch, Samson Macharia, said the situation is serious. “We gave our financial projections to the government months back but we are yet to receive the free education funds ,” Macharia said. The national government’s failure to release funds for free secondary education has worsened the situation.
