IPOH: The recent meeting between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and United States President Donald Trump has played a part in garnering the support of world leaders for the Rohingya cause. Coincidentally, he said the meeting between Najib and Trump had also touched on issues such as ethnic cleansing and the persecution of the Rohingya, which was something that the United States was prepared to take a stand on. "He understands that there must be a global consensus in ending the atrocities against Rohingya. He wants to see the United States, which is one of the world's most powerful nations to play its role towards achieving that," he said. United States Vice President Mike Pence had during the United Nation Security Council meeting on peacekeeping reform condemned the attacks by Myanmar military in the Rakhine state which saw more than 422,000 Rohingya displaced.
